Come here to see the outstanding viewpoint overlooking the panorama of Poole and its harbour views. There is plenty of parking and refreshments are available. Take your time, the views are worth it.
You are looking for a commemorative stone dedicated to Stephen Nicolas Ford aged 18 who gave his life to help free the Falkland Islands some thirty years ago. He served on HMS Ardent, a destroyer which was torpedoed and sunk by an Argentinean submarine.
Respect to all our armed forces. Support help for heroes when you can.
Published co-ordinates are for parking and the stone. Be aware that at nighttimes the area is closed by barriers.
Use the information available to solve the following –
A=(Corfe Castle + Sandbanks + Hamworthy) /2
B= Arish Mel / Hamworthy.
C= Sandbanks - Brownsea.
D= Hardy’s Monument – (Arish Mel + Corfe Castle)
E= Nine Barrow Down - Long Island.
F= Poole + Old Harry.
Final can be found at N50 43.ABC W001 57.DEF.
Checksum = 49
I regret that the final is not accessible to wheelchairs due to the presence of steps and very uneven ground.
When set contained log book,FTF badge and small swaps.
Should be a good cache to exchange trackables.
Congatulations to lincolnlady for the FTF.
Nice to see it go to a new cacher.
