How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Cache IS at the posted coordinates, but you MUST fulfill the requirements in order to log a find on this cache!

NOTE: Effective 3/28/2020 - If your caches are NOT scout related I will immediately delete your log. You can re-log with proof. I am tired of enforcing this. I've deleted the checker because people look at the green check and say "I qualify" when they CLARLY don't.

Not every Hike, Eagle, Camp, or Summit is scout related. Think about it. YOU need to figure it out. If you are not willing to do the work then do not attempt this cache. GSAK search and reviewing the logs may will help you more than the checker. If you are clueless about scouting, check out www.scouting.org

To honor scouts everywhere, I present you this geocaching challenge:

To complete this challenge you need find 25 caches that have scouting as their theme in the title.

Simple rules:

1. The theme or word has to be mentioned in the title, and it has to be associated with scouting (not scouting for caches or being prepared to go caching with your loyal geodog. ).

The intent is the caches be related to Scouting -- Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc. Any cache identified in the title or as being placed by a troop / den / pack / district / council / etc. counts. There are lots of these all over the place. There are also numerous series that are directly related to scouting that count -- such as Cache to Eagle, scouting 'words' (such as promise, pledge, law, motto, scouting values, scouting awards, etc.).

2. Events do not count for this challenge. Nor does this cache count for one of the 25.

3. Past finds do count for this challenge.

4. Finds can be made in any location.

5. You must list your caches in your log or bookmark them with the following format:

GC -- Title -- Date Found

If you are using the checker - capture the data so it shows your caches, like above! Don't just use the part that says "xxxx qualifies." Show your proof!

5. You can sign the log for this challenge at any time and log a 'note' to the cache page, mentioning you signed the log. But you may not log a find until you have completed the requirements (this way you don't have to go back to sign after you complete the requirements!). Once you complete the requirements, edit your log, change it to found, and change the find date to the date you completed the requirements and list the required information.

Good luck, and be prepared!

Congrats to trea for FTF!
