Canyelles Settlement
Over the entrance to the train tunnel, you can see the ruins. The old buildings have been destroyed & the materials have been used to repair the wine grids & the abandoned olive tree plantations. The buildings appearances are a bit misleading. The medieval buildings can be identified easily, in different points, especially in the central & eastern sections. There were between 8 & 10 houses, but the area was reduced. The buildings had a rectangular or trapezoidal floor, with 2 or three compartments in the interior. They were very well compacted together, but without any organised urban structure. Formed in the middle ages, with the crisis from the medieval periods before (14-15th centuries), it was abandoned.
There are many paths you can take to Llança, to Parc Natural Comes Tortes...,after you have found the cache, if you want to explore some more.
Poblat de Canyelles
Sobre l'entrada del túnel del tren, al serrat de davant, hi ha les ruïnes. Els edificis antics han estat molt destruïts i els materials s'han reaprofitat per a les reixes de vinyes i les oliveres que avui estan abandonats. Per tant el seu aspecte és una mica enganyós. Les restes d'edificis medievals es poden identificar fàcilment malgrat tot, en diferents punts, sobretot als sectors central i de llevant. Hi havia unes vuit o deu cases, potser algunes més, però el nucli era reduït. Els edificis tenien planta rectangular o trapezial, amb un parell o tres de compartiments a l'interior. L'agrupament era força compacte, però sense cap distribució urbana mínimament ordenada. Format segurament a l'alta edat mitjana, amb la crisi dels darrers segles medievals, al segle XIV o el XV es degué abandonar.
