Geocache Description:

Borrowed Wines Barming Bimble #6 - Borrowed Wine

One last cache for you. Please be careful with the container, thank you :)

This cache is near to the location of Kent Meet #29 - Best Bib and Tucker (GC3B4EQ). The event is a light-hearted chance for cachers to glam up a little, and so the cache containers should do too. Look out for a Glamouflaged container. The 'glaching' will continue for longer than the event, but probably not as long as the cache's lifetime!

A little bit about the Parish of Barming

Barming is a civil parish in the Maidstone District of Kent, England. It lies to the east of Maidstone, the county town, and had a population of 2233 persons (2001 census). The eastern end of the parish is part of the built-up area of Maidstone, although the remainder is much more rural. The River Medway is the southern boundary of the parish.

Barming is mentioned in the Domesday Book, and was then described as being divided into East and West; the latter being known as Little Barming, and having its own church until the 16th century, now known as Barn Jet.

Barming railway station, on the line through Maidstone to Ashford, was opened with the line on 1 June 1874. The A26 road crosses the parish. More information about the area can be found at: http://www.barmingpc.kentparishes.gov.uk/
