Geocache Description:

The Faded Signs Series is a series of mostly easy caches along Highway #4 in Pictou County with a couple of harder ones to find for variety. Cache sizes range from nano to regular. The latest caches may test features of your GPSr that you may or may not know how to use.

This small to medium sized camoufladged container is not hidden at the posted coordinates. You must program your GPSr to do a projection to find the final cache location

To locate the final cache location, from the posted coordinates you must go in a heading of 124° magnetic north for a distance of 96 metres or 106° True North for the same distance where you will find the cache. The final cache location is winter friendly, but may require some searching. Some bushwhacking is involved to get to the final cache location.

Please return the cache to the exact location you found it, to make it a equal challenge for the next cacher to find.

Along Highway 4 in Pictou County, there are a number of tourist advertising signs that have faded from use with the construction of Highway 104 through Pictou County.

Normally, only the locals travel along Highway #4 while the tourists and other travelers normally take the four lane express Highway #104 to get through the region on their way to their holiday or business destination.

All the caches in this series are placed in the proximity of old faded Tourist Signs which may or may not reference past attractions or current old attractions.

Most of the caches in the series are generally Winter Friendly and fairly easy terrain to get to with no or minimum bushwhacking. The cache containers may vary in size but fitting with the hiding spot.

CONGRATULATIONS TO "3Bearss and Canuck Thistles" FOR THE FTF

Feb 11-12, 2012 - projection degrees have been corrected from the original listing
