Up a Creek Traditional Cache

Located about 40 yards from the Patriots Path/Blue trail, near the confluence of several creeks where they meet the Black River, this cache consists of a seven-inch plastic jar. The topography is quite level in this area of the park. Nevertheless, on 11/25/12 after Superstorm Sandy, I upgraded the terrrain rating due to the large number of downed trees all around GZ.
The Kay Environmental Center in Morris County should attract more hikers than one tends to observe. Less than half a mile from Rt. 206 near Chester, this park is bordered by the wildly popular Hacklebarney State Park to the west and Chubb Park to the north. The Kay estate, which houses an office of the Nature Conservancy, was donated to the County and dedicated in 1994. The famous food critic Duncan Hines was a frequent visitor to the Kay family. The land has a spacious butterfly wildflower garden and affords easy access to the spectacular Black River gorge. Having enjoyed the diverse features and dense-woods peacefulness of these trails for years, I expected to see more than one cache placed here when I took up GC about six weeks ago. Mine should not prove as challenging as the original hide, which is about half a mile away. After you make the find, you may want to continue upstream to the Cooper Mill where you can view an operational 19th-century grist mill from spring to summer.
Please use bark or other material to hide the cache. The first finder will be rewarded with a gold dollar coin. I welcome your feedback on this my first hide.
