Russell Young Gilbert, 1841-1870, served under General Sul Ross in Belknap and was a Government Scout out of Fort Griffin. There is a memorial about him on the lookout point. Don't forget the camera...beautiful view! For more info on Fort Griffin Historic Site go to www.visitfortgriffin.com
