Geocache Description:

About a 25 minute walk, mostly on old tarmac drive, some rough terrain and forestry road. Nice view North from GZ.

Third in my mini series of Lennox Castle estate. This cache is placed at the remains of the Lennox Castle stable block, this was a huge building with a footprint almost as big as the castle, sadly all that remains now is piles of stones, some very neatly cut and shaped.
There are several places to start and park so you may wish to take a shorter route rather than my given instructions.
Park at the new housing estate North of Lennoxtown, just off a small roundabout on the Glen Road, coords are in waymark list, from here walk South, ignore the red road into housing on the right, at the end of a wooden fence turn right, then turn right again North across rough ground and head for the small bridge (waymarked). Do not cross river but turn left on to old tarmac castle main drive and follow this up through the woods to near Lennox Castle. The ruin on the right just before the castle is the much earlier Woodhead House, it was intentionally only partially demolished and planted with ivy after construction of the new Lennox Castle to make it look like a ruin.
Pass the castle on you left and continue round the back and uphill on the tarmac road, at a very large metal gate turn right on to forestry road and head to GZ.
The cache is placed at the North East wall in a small clearing with great views of Campsies.

Well done C2 for FTF
