Almost Paradise Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Karen1962: Cache is long gone and so is it's hiding place. Lots of garbage left in the area. Not replacing the cache this time. Thinking this spot is no longer a viable hiding place.

Geocache Description:

Just another almond container.

Cache is located in the Indian Trails Park area of Ashtabula, Ohio. Please, no night caching.

The Ashtabula Township Park Commission is the stewards of two parks in Ashtabula Township.

The first and most popular is Lakeshore Park located just east of the northern terminus of State Rt. 11. It is a beautiful well maintained and manicured 54 acre park on the shores of Lake Erie. It is an ideal spot for families to enjoy the outdoors and it brings many visitors to the area.

The second is Indian Trails Park which offers nature lovers 405 acres, 4 miles of primitive hiking trail along the scenic Ashtabula River and 3,000’ of improved trail where rare plant species and a vast amount of wildlife can be found. Many spots are found for great steelhead fishing. At the southern terminus of Indian Trails the Smolen Gulf Bridge can be found crossing the park and river. It is the longest covered bridge in the United States.

Parking is available at N 41 51.215, W 080 46.535 and you are looking at a walk of approximately .25 miles to the cache. The trail is quite muddy in areas right now so please wear boots.

While you might be tempted to find another way to the cache, the trail is still the safest way in so please stay on it the best you can.
