As I reminisce and reflect upon my now long-ago college years, my fondest memories involve spending three weeks at Forestry Field Camp, the last Rutgers class to utilize this facility before the DEP purchased the 500-acre property in 2005. The Lusscroft Farm trail network is over 5 miles long, and winds through grassland, hardwood forest, and wetland habitats. There are trails for all hikers, from beginner to advanced. Lusscroft Farm has a significant agricultural history, unique geologic features, was the Beemerville 4-H Youth Camp from 1971-1996, and hosts year-round educational activities such as Maple "Sugar'n," nature walks, and equine trail rides.
