Wednesday, February 29, 2012 is Leap Day.
A Flash Mob is a group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. Bring your GPS, be prepared to demonstrate your method of finding a geocache, by finding a bucket marked Event!
Please meet at the Event coordinates (parking lot). As you arrive, you’ll be handed a log sheet and please remember to sign in with your User name. You MUST be present 6:19 PM – 6:29 PM to claim this event. LOOK for trackables to discover, then at 6:26 PM (time will be announced), we will all assemble and as a group find a bucket marked Event, using our typical geocachers route. (walking in circles, holding a GPS/ Phone in front of you) When you reach the bucket you will announce the find in your own unusual manner, be it a dance, yell, hoot or whistle!. Originality may be rewarded! At exactly 6:29, the event will be over and we will all disperse.
Only those participants whose names appear on the log sheet may log THIS event. Please log your “Will Attend” on this page. Bring your trackables for others to discover.
Everyone who logs a “Found it” or “Attended” this February 29 will receive the Leap Day Souvenir on their profile. As an added bonus, Premium Members who love to look at their “finds by date” statistics most likely see a blank square on the calendar on February 29. This is your chance to fill in the square — the 366th day of geocaching!
These achievements are only available every 4 years, so if you miss this Event, you'll be four years older before you have another opportunity! So LEAP on over to the Westside and join the fun!
