Geocache Description:

The 12th of December 2012 (12-12-12) marks the end of a 12 year run for holding 'repetitive date' GeoCaching events. Unfortunately this year's iteration falls on a Wednesday which does not bode well for people travelling to the event (it's a school night you know).

With this in mind, it gives us great pleasure to introduce The Incremental Event!
We are holding this event on 10th of November 2012 (10-11-12) which happens to be a Saturday; much better for travellers :)

Victoria Esplanade is one of Palmerston North's most iconic parks.

In 1877 the central government granted bush land to the newly established Borough of Palmerston North and in the 135 years since it has been developed into a popular and multi-functional venue covering 19 hectares adjacent to the Manawatu River.
Features include:
• award winning Rose Gardens
• Conservatory and shade house containing a wide range of tropical and sub-tropical plants.
• Aviaries housing exotic and native birds (including a successful breeding ground for the endangered Whio - NZ blue duck)
• Children’s adventure playground and Paddling pool
• Miniature railway
• Café
• a variety of Geocaches!
It really does have something for everyone anytime of the year.

The event is being held at the neighbouring Manawatu Hockey Pavilion and will start at 10am on Saturday, running through till 4pm or when we pack up... whichever comes last :)
There will be a number of new caches available on the day as well as a number of other activities available (there is a Wherigo cache in the park for those who have not had a chance to do one yet - We will hopefully have some Wherigo-capable GPSr's available. Please let us know if we can borrow yours).

BYO lunch, but we will have two BBQs operating with a Sausage Sizzle from around noon. The cost will be a gold coin or other donation to offset the cost of the hall hirage.

Hopefully we will be able to offer pre-orders on the official 12-12-12 geo-coins.
