This Cache which is a 35mm Film Container, is hidden on the new Baboon Trail in the Umtamvuna Nature Reserve.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CACHE WILL BE REPLACED WITH AN EARTHCACHE WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK OR SO. The Umtamvuna Nature Reserve is not merely an area of great scenic beauty, but it is first and foremost a botanical reserve. More rare trees are found in the UNR than in any other conservation area in South Africa. The UNR conserves a core area of the Pondoland Centre and acts as a safeguard for more than 1400 species of flowering plants. Of these about 385 are woody plants. Considering the relatively small size of the UNR, these are significant figures. The Kruger National Park, with a surface area approximately 500 times larger, has only about 2000 species of flowering plants of which some 380 are trees. Please note that the cache is only available during daylight hours, and a small entrance fee will have to be paid to the Field Ranger on duty at the Beacon Hill Office. As this is a KZN Wildlife Nature Reserve Laws and legislation will apply. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT REPLACE THIS CACHE IN THE PLACE THAT YOU FOUND IT. WE WILL DELETE YOUR FIND FROM THE LOG ON THIS PAGE. THERE ARE REAL BABOONS IN THE RESERVE AND THEY ARE VERY INQUISITIVE.
