Meriden Quarry Summit Traditional Cache
Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
This cache will bring you to a classic New Jersey Highlands Summit within the Wildcat Ridge Wildlife Management Area. It's a beautiful spot with interesting rock outcroppings and glacial till. Not a huge view, especially with leaves on the trees, but worth the hike if you are into this sort of thing.
Parking is available on a couple pull-offs on Meriden Rd. near the "Gateway to Meriden Quarry" Cache. There is a swamp-free entrance into the woods close to the bridge on Meriden Rd. You could also hike down from the parking lot near the dam on Splitrock Rd.
There are unmarked trails and old roads in the area, but none that will take you very near the cache. Be prepared for a bushwacking adventure. No matter your approach, you will traverse much gorgeous, rugged terrain.
Please do tread lightly. The area is graced with lots of beautiful/fragile moss and lichen. Please respect them.
You do not have to move any rocks to find the cache.
