This creek is becoming less and less remote with all the new neighbourhoods popping up. I was able to get real close to the cache location as some new construction project is beginning on the East side. Soon this area will be surrounded but the cache location is unlikely to ever be developed.
When dropping the cache off, I noticed a large brown lump under an adjacent tree, obviously an animal. I paused thinking that it would be smart for me to return another night but while doing so, I heard a deep snore. The hide was to be only be two steps from where I was so I shuffled over and placed the cache. The animal, which I'm sure is a porcupine or perhaps a wayward beaver. This is my third late night visit and the first I saw a creature under that tree so I'm thinking that it's not a usual occurrence. But please be observant when approaching...those little guys deserve a good nights sleep.
One other note...I've seen ducks bedding down in this area too. Please don't disturb them, this is their home, geocachers are guests.
