Geocache Description:

Important note: Please do not venture past the cache and into the forestry area as Forestry harvesting is in progress at the time of placing this cache. The Bridal way above the Ford is closed for felling purposes. Please access other caches from the main road and not through the forestry.

This cache is the second in the Moel Heulen series.
It is located on the edge of the forestry between Corris and Aberllefenni.

There are several ways to reach the cache. During busy periods parking in the area is limited. There are several small laybys, tourist attractions, small picnic area and a small public car park where cachers may park.

The Moel Heulen caches are best suited to walkers and mountain bikers who are looking to spend a bit of time walking or cycling in the hills. When complete the Moel Heulen series will result in good days walk but each cache will be a stand alone find.

This area is well used by Mountain Bikers and is also the venue for Wales GB Ralley so be aware that the mountain roads may be closed to the public. Please check if there are any closures and be alert for Mad downhill cyclists.

The cache is best reached form the picnic site by the Afon ( river ) Dulas alomg the village road between Corris and Aberllefenni. From there Take the footpath over the river and go to the caecenau ford. you may get your feet wet and remember wet stones are slippery. You will need to cross the ford.

Cache placed with the kind permission of the Forestry Commission:-

"Please be aware of the following comments:

1. After looking at the standing agreement for this area ,we can grant permission for the go ahead for these GPS- based treasure hunts, the cache owner seems to be aware of Harvesting work ongoing in the Moel Heulwen area and of the timber traffic.
I know of a closure on a Bridal way on the Clear Fell site in that area so he needs to be informed of the closure.

2. I think that we should also ask the owner to inform us if they are no longer in use, & it would be good if he could report any problems or issues.
