Geocache Description:

This cache is placed in honor of Mardi Gras.

The cache is NOT at the listed coordinates but is located in a park that was once home to an amusement park.

Mardi Gras can trace its origins to Medival Europe. In 1699, Jean Baptiste Le Moyne Sieur de Bienville, landed 60 miles south of New Orleans and called it "Pointe due Mardi Gras." The Mardi Gras that many are familiar with, including the colors, parades, balls and kings, originated in New Orleans and is going strong today. It is known as the "Greatest Free Show on Earth."

The term Mardi Gras literally means "Fat Tuesday." This Tuesday falls on the day before Ash Wednesday, the 1st day of fasting in preparation for the Christian Feast Day of Easter. The festivities, parades, balls and feasts of Mardi Gras end abruptly at midnight on Fat Tuesday.

Rules of the game:

1. Find 50 geocaches with a food included in the title. Beverages and desserts are encouraged. Archived caches are acceptable.

2. Make a bookmark of the 50 caches including this one. Be sure to make the bookmark public.

3. Solve the Puzzle to find the coordinates of the final cache.

You can check your answers for this puzzle on Geochecker.com.

You will be looking for a container that may hold something to help you stay awake for the festivities.

The difficulty was rated a little bit higher than usual because of the need to search for the specific caches, not because of the final hide.

Congrats to GuentherGal on FTF!
