The Great NWB Adventure trail: Erddig Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Southerntrekker: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not repaired/replaced it, I am archiving it.

Guidelines: "You are responsible for occasional visits to your cache to maintain proper working order, especially when someone reports a problem with the cache (missing, damaged, wet, etc.). You may temporarily disable your cache to let others know not to search for it until you have a chance to fix the problem. This feature is to allow you a reasonable amount of time - normally a few weeks - in which to check on your cache. If a cache is not being maintained, or has been temporarily disabled for an unreasonable length of time, we may archive the listing."

If you wish to email me please send your email via my profile (click on my name) and quote the cache name and number.

Geocache Description:

This cache is part of 'The Great North Wales Borderlands Adventure Trail' in which 13 caches have been hidden at attractions in North Wales. After parking in the official grounds carpark you can walk out into the park itself. The cache is hidden near to circular tower with a cross on the top in a small wood nearby.

The wood itself is next to a clearing where it looks like some building has been taking place recently.
Once in the wood, the cache is hidden at the base of a tree near to a fence. It is covered by rocks and bracken.

The cache itself is a small tupperware box. Inside is a laminated welcome note, map showing the other 12 locations, a disposable camera for you to take a photo of your friends and family at the cache and certificates. There are also hidden Golden Tickets in 5 of the 13 caches, those Geocachers that find the Golden Tickets will win Gelert Rucksacks!

We are also giving away a Weekend Getaway in North Wales; for you chance to win this take a photo of yourself or family at the cache location and upload it to www.northwalesgeocachetrail.co.uk and you will be entered into the competition. We'll be posting clues as to where to find the caches and Golden Tickets on the NWB Facebook and Twitter pages over the next month. Check the website for more info and good luck!

Erddig Hall is a National Trust property on the outskirts of Wrexham, Wales. Located 2 miles outside of Wrexham it is popular with Walkers and families. Great tea shop on site, occasional car boot and a fantastic antiques place too. Nice place for a picnic!
