This cache is part of 'The Great North Wales Borderlands Adventure Trail in which 13 caches have been hidden at attractions in North Wales.
After parking in the official Chirk Castle car park, start walking towards the castle which should be in front of view of you at the top of the hill.
Turn right as if you are walking around the width of the castle.After a little while you come to a signposted cross roads. Turn right down into a woods with a public footpath walking through.
The cache is hidden off the footpath in the woods to your left. It has been left inside the base of an old tree stump and is covered with bracken.
The cache itself is a small tupperware box. Inside is a laminated welcome note, map showing the other 12 locations, a disposable camera to take photos of your friends and family at the cache locations and certificates. There are also Golden Tickets hidden in 5 of the 13 caches, those Geocachers that find the Golden Tickets will win Gelert Rucksacks!

Free to walk around although it is a National Trust property so you pay to enter the castle itself.
