Geocache Description:

This is another cache in the Faded Markers Series. This series mainly focus on older, near forgotten burial plots of pioneers in the Niagara Region and beyond. The goal of this series is not necessarily the length of the walk nor the difficulty of the find, but
rather a simple reverence for those who came before us to shape our
area.

Transcript from circa 1952 document: "This small family plot was set aside in the early 1800's by the original Fretz family members that came rom New York and Pennsylvania before the turn of the century. It is situated in the middle of a farm field on the north side of Bertie Road, west of Point Abino. The greater number of stones are from the Fretz Family, all very old, however there are other names to be found here, such as Huffman, Johnston, Mickert, Sherk, Murray and Kennedy"

Today, you will find a "grass" driveway that takes you to this cemetery. Please park ONLY on the first 20 feet of the driveway where there is some stone, or on the sie of the road.

This is in the country and you will be travelling on country roads ( hard packed clay and stone with potholes), so it may not be appropriate to drive here in your Porche.

The cache is a cammo'd 35mm film tube with log only and placed responsibly and respectfully. Please bring your own pen.

CONGRATULATIONS dhcmca on FTF !!!
