A quick walk on the Red Trail - ideal for a lunch time grab
Campgaw Mountain Reservation offers unique opportunities such as archery, disc golf, skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing in a wooded setting. Hiking is available along the marked trails in this 1,373-acre wooded park. Campsites are also available at Campgaw.The steady drone of traffic on Interstate 287 is always audible from the campground (and groudn zero), reminding you that civilization is just past the nearest row of trees. But Campgaw’s biggest handicap is also its major strength. A weekend camping expedition can begin as late as Saturday afternoon. The accessibility of Campgaw means families can show their kids how to sleep outdoors but can also break camp and drive home if the tots become grumpy and refuse to sleep.
