Kasama Sta.

Kasama has been flourished as a temple town of Kasama Inari Shrine. It is known as the town of Kasama-yaki pottery at present. Kasama-yaki is said to be durable and sturdy among pottery. There are miscellaneous works of Kasama-yaki such as tableware, jar, pot, contemporary art, and so on. Incidentally, I bought an ocarina as my first Kasama-yaki. Because there are many Kasama-yaki potteries, you can experience the pottery by yourself. Kasama has been selected as one of the "Lover's Sanctuaries" in Japan.

There are other sightseeing spots in Kasama such as
- Kasama Park Geijutsunomori
- Mt. Sashiro (Kasama castle ruin, Kasama boulder)
- Tsutsuji park
- Sakamoto Kyu's house
- Kitayama park
Various caches have been placed at every site by many great owners such as ichci-san, tenchindon-san, and Super Naitos-san. I also placed a few caches in Kasama.

Kasama was severely damaged by the 3.11 earthquake throughout the city in 2011. Many cultural heritage have also received extensive damage. I hope for early recovery. In addition, I would like to ask GCers to visit Kasama to enjoy not only GC but also pottery arts and so on.

A bicycle can be rent from the tourist information center in front of the Kasama station (8:30-17:00, 800yen/day). There is also a "Kasama City Tour Bus" (one day pass 200yen/day). There are some free/toll parking lots in Kasama city. For more information, please ask the tourist information center.

By the way, I installed a clue card of GC37V1M received from Ichi-cyan in this cache container. I think the card will decrease the difficulty rate from 4 to 2.

笠間駅

笠間は笠間稲荷神社の門前町として栄えてきました。今では笠間焼の産地としても知られています。笠間焼は特徴がないのが特徴といわれるくらい多種多様です。焼き上がりが丈夫なので食器をはじめ現代アート作品等さまざまなものがあります。ちなみに、私が初めて購入した笠間焼はオカリナでした。笠間焼の作品を展示販売しているお店や、笠間焼を体験していただける窯元も市内に多くあります。また、茨城県で唯一の"恋人の聖地"として『陶芸の里かさま』が登録されています。 (visit link)

笠間にはほかにも、
- 笠間芸術の森公園
- 佐白山（笠間城址、笠間ボルダー）
- つつじ園
- 九ちゃんの家
- 北山公園
といった観光名所がたくさんあります。それぞれに、ichciさん、tenchindonさん、Super Naitosさんといった方々が多種多様なキャッシュを設置されています。ついでに私が置いたキャッシュもあります。

笠間では、2011年3月11日の東日本大震災で震度6強を観測し、市内全域で停電・断水が起こりました。市内各所の損傷激しく、文化財が崩れるといった甚大な被害を受けました。私はジオキャッシャーの方々に、笠間に訪問していただき、ジオキャッシングに勤しむとともに、陶芸を体験していただいたりして復興に協力してもらいたいと思っています。是非、笠間へお越しください。そして心置きなく楽しんでください。

笠間駅前の観光案内所でレンタサイクルがあります(8:30-17:00, 800円/日)。かさま観光周遊バスというのが一日八便ですが運行されています(1日乗車券 200円)。市内には無料/有料駐車場が数箇所あります。詳細につきましては観光案内所にお尋ねください。

なお、あまり必要ないかもしれませんが、このキャッシュの中に市ちゃんからいただいたGC37V1Mのヒントが記されたカードを忍ばせておきました。それを見れば星二つくらい難易度が下がるのではと思われます。
