I found some metal art in an area that seemed to be a great area for a cache to be located. The cache is placed to celebrate the Wings Over Willcox annual event.
Wings Over Willcox is an annual event held each January in Willcox, AZ. For about two decades the event has consisted of festivities and seminars to coincide with the migration of Sandhill Cranes into the area. The sandhill cranes usually migrate into the area around September or October and leave for northern areas around March. Their flight formations are similar to geese, but some seem to do their own thing from time to time as though they didn’t get the flight plan for the day. Ha! Every year people come to the area from all over the world for the chance to see, photograph and hear these strange squawking birds as well as many others that live or migrate into the area. This cache is placed so that you may possibly get a chance to see some of the cranes on the trip to or from the cache as well as hawks, quail and other birds and wildlife which frequent this area.
The cache is placed on private property with the permission of the owner, but DOES NOT require entering the private property to retrieve. I repeat; it can be accessed without crossing any fences along the road, so please keep the owner happy and DO NOT ENTER THE PROPERTY. Stay on the main road side of the fence.
There are two other caches located close by, GC48DRD & GC48DV2 that can add to your caching pleasure.
This is a desert hide, so all precautions should be taken to avoid the sharp, sticking, biting and rattling things typically found in the desert.
Additional hints may be requested by email only after you have posted a DNF.
