Spring Cove is an important habitat for the local little penguins - sometimes called fairy penguins. It is also home to one of the last significant beds of sea grass in Sydney Harbour.
The clean up starts at 10:30 am and finishes around 12:30 pm. Ensure you bring gloves, sunscreen, sensible clothing and footwear, water and a camera.
The nearest parking space is at Little Manly Point - to the west of the clean up. From there it is a short 10-15 minute walk, but be aware that steps are involved.
This event has been organised in co-operation with Ranger Melanie Tyas from the Sydney Harbour National Park.
The association believes this and future co-operative projects will assist in developing a good relationship between geocachers and the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.
You can also register on the Clean Up Australia website.
Geocaching NSW is also hosting another Clean Up Australia Day CITO event in the Blue Mountains NP - Cleanup The Blue Mountains - Wentworth Falls 2012.
