Was erwartet mich?
Von der Belchenflue kann man bei schönem Wetter den ganzen Alpenkamm sehen. Die Alpen entstanden vor 30-100 Millionen Jahren. Als die afrikanische Platte auf die europäische stiess. Der Faltenjura ist der kleinere Bruder von den Alpen und entstand erst vor 5 Millionen Jahren. Wenn man Richtung Norden schaut, sieht man weit in den Schwarzwald hinein.

Freie Sicht aufs Mittelmeer hatte man vor 215 Millionen Jahren vom Belchen aus. Denn die Alpen gab es noch nicht. Und der Belchen war kein Berggipfel, sondern Teil einer weiträumigen Lagunenlandschaft an den Ufern des Ur-Mittelmeers. Auf dem Land wuchsen riesige Schachtelhalme, unter welchen erste Dinosaurier nach Nahrung suchten. Der Durchblick erinnert an eine Zeit, als der Kanton Solothurn praktisch am Äquator lag. In dieser Zeit entstand das Gips-Gestein, das beim Bau des Belchen-Autobahn-Tunnels einige Probleme verursachte.

Bei dein obigen Koordinaten findest du eine Information Tafel. Auf ihr steht wie das Urmittelmeer entstand und wo der Belchen frühe lag.

1. Welche 3 Gesteinsarten sind im Belchengebiet vorhanden?
2. Welche Gesteinsart ist hart und welche Art ist weich?
3. Erkläre mir die Umwandlung von Gips zu Anhydrit und umgekehrt.
4. Wie gross waren die ersten primitiven Dinos?

What can I expect?
