Geocache Description:

Do you know the Elf Pirate Readbeard? Your kids will know him; if you don't have your own, ask your small nieces and nephews.. We hid this treasure just over the lake where Big Bad Barry ate all Mr. Elf's boats and Redbeard's Hoard. We hope that this will make the small ones happy! Bring your own pen! (BYOP) and re-hide exactly.

Near N18, just between Shannon and Limerick is Coillte Forest Park Cratloe Woods. The forest park entrance has large parking area and was recently fitted with loads of kids friendly attractions.
The entrance area is heavily be-muggled, you will need to circle round the lake to get to the cache site, but it is not a proper hike, still more like an extended park and grab, but there are numerous trails and loops that can bring you to the cache site, some shorter and some longer. In principle you can get with strollers and/or wheelchair within a dozen meters from the hide, but the hide is rocky and might be slippery, somewhat in the range of 2.5 (3 after rain) terrain rating, so watch the kids! You will need to watch for muggles as well, especially during wekends. The cache site would be probably accessible (for experienced night hunters with torches) even after hours, but the entrance parking area officially closes at 5pm, or so.
The cache is now a small aluminium tube BUT camoed with camo-tape and cannot be found by looking. Mask well again.
This has to be hidden and masked very well, as the area is heavily frequented by muggle kids and dogs.. Do look at the spoiler pic, especially if you don't have a precise outdoors GPS device and are caching with just a phone or similar..
