I mysterierne er der oftest et lille hint til, hvorledes det skal løses. Flere af de populære metoder er opkaldt efter den geocacher, der har lanceret metoden. Nedenfor vil vi se nærmere på et par af metoderne:
En "Gade"
I mysteriet finder du nogle tal.
Cifferne i tallene skal sorteres i stigene rækkefølge.
Hvis tallene er 6, 17, 9 og 6 stilles tallene således op:
16679. Derefter fuldendes rækken med de tal der mangler 16679023458.
Nu er a=1, b=6, c=6, d=7, e=9, f=0, g=2, h=3, i=4, j=5 og k=8
Husk at gentage de ciffre, som du har fundet flere gange.
En "Løwe"
I mysteriet finder du nogle tal.
Cifferne i tallene skal sorteres i stigene rækkefølge - dog først med de lige og derefter med de ulige tal.
Hvis tallene er 6, 17, 9 og 6, stilles tallene således op: 66 og resten af de lige tal 0248 - derefter de ulige 179 så de manglende tal 35.
Nu er a=6, b=6, c=0, d=2, e=4, f=8, g=1, h=7, i=9, j=3 og k=5
Husk at gentage de ciffre, du har fundet flere gange.
En "Geotosse"
I mystriet finder du nogle tal.
Hvis tallene er 6, 17, 9 og 6 stilles tallene således op:
1. felt = 6, 2. felt = 1, 3. felt = 7 ....
Læg første og anden tal i række A sammen og skriv det som første tal i række B.
Læg derefter tal nr. 2 og 3 i række A sammen og skriv det tal du får som nr. 2 i række B
Sådan fortsætte du indtil du har gjort det med alle tal i række A. Derefter hopper du ned på række B og gør det samme.
Sådan fortsætter du indtil hele Tosse-pyramiden er fyldt med tal.
Hvis du får et to-cifret tal, så skal du bruge det sidste cifre.
Altså hvis du får 12 er det kun 2 du skal føre vidre til linjen under.
Når du har beregnet alle tal i Tosse-pyramiden, kan du beregne koorinaterne, hvor cachen befinder sig.
Du anvender tallene i de forskellige rækker.
Hvis der i række M står tallene 1, 9, 0, så vil tallet for M være 190.
En "Gulpertstein"
Teknikken beskrives bedst ved at give et eksempel: Find et ord som for eksempel en hovedstad (abcdefghij) og læg den alfanumeriske værdi (bogstavets placering i alfabetet) ind i nedenstående formel:

For hver parentes, skal der ses bort fra eventuelle tiere.
Løsning: Ordet er geocaching=7,5,15,3,1,3,8,9,14,7 (=a,c,b,d,e,f,g,h,i,j) Det vil sige:

In the mysteries you often find a hint how to solve the mystery. Some of the popular methods are named after the creator of the the methods, and below we will look into a few of them:
A "Gade"
In the mystery you must find some numbers.
The digits in the numbers you find must be sorted in ascending order, like.
If the numbers are 6, 17, 9 and 6, the digits are arranged like this: 16679.
The row has to be completed with the missing digits like 16679023458.
Now a=1, b=6, c=6, d=7, e=9, f=0, g=2, h=3, i=4, j=5 and k=8
Remember to repeat the digits you have found more than one time.
A "Løwe"
In the mystery you must find some numbers.
The digits in the numbers you find must be sorted in ascending order - but first the even numbers and afterwards the uneven numbers.
If the numbers are 6, 17, 9 and 6 the digits are arranged like this: 66179.
The row has to be completed with the missing digits like 66 and the missing even numbers 0248. Afterwards the uneven numbers 179 and at last the missing uneven numbers 35
Now a=6, b=6, c=0, d=2, e=4, f=8, g=1, h=7, i=9, j=3 and k=5
Remember to repeat the digits you have found more than one time.
A "Geotosse"
In the mystery you must find some numbers.
If the numbers are 6, 17, 9 and 6, the digits are placed as follow in the diagram displayed in the Danish text:
1. field = 6, 2. field = 1, 3. field = 7 ....
Add the numbers in the first and second field at row A, and place the sum in the first field in row B.
Then add the numbers in the second and third field in row A and place the number in the second field in row B.
Continue like this untill you have completed row A and continue with row B and the next rows untill you are at the bottom of the diagram.
If the sum of the addition is a 2 digit number, you only transfer the last digit to the row below.
If the sum is 12 only the digit 2 is transfered to the next row.
You use the numbers in the different rows to calculated the coordinates of the cache.
If the digits in row M is 1, 9, 0, the number for M is 190.
A "Gulpertstein"
The teknik is best described in the following exampel: Find a word - ex. name of a big city (abcdefghij) and find the number of each letter in the alphabet. Insert the numbers in the following formula:

If the number in each parenthesis is larger than 9, you only use the last figure.
Solution: The word is "geocaching"=7,5,15,3,1,3,8,9,14,7 (=a,c,b,d,e,f,g,h,i,j):
