Along with the acacia lining our freeways with its bright yellow blossoms in February, stands the massive Eucalyptus globulus AKA Tasmanian Blue Gum, the most widely spread cultivated Australian tree.

Perhaps the most striking feature of this tree - besides its massive size and height - is its bark which sheds in great sheets throughout the year. Stop to admire the tree as you find the cache, its orange under bark, its muti-stamened white flowers and its button-shaped seed pods.
