Antioch Park & Ride Traditional Cache
Tooljunke: As much as I hate to do this , I have to archive this one for now. It was the first geocache I had ever placed.
Due to all of the construction/destruction in the immediate area , there is no good / safe place to put it for now. Rather than to have someone get hurt , I feel its best to archive it for now. I will try to resurrect it after the construction crews have moved out of the area. Thanks to all who have visited my little cache.

N 39.11302 W 094.32903 I have tried to modify the coordinates on the main page several times to no avail. Sorry for the confusion.
This is my 1st cache, I wanted it to be beginner friendly. Unfortunately , I wasn’t able to make it wheelchair accessible. Due to the height of the cache.
The mall began business as an open-air shopping center in 1956, with about 80 store spaces on two levels. In 1974, a Sears store was added . Further renovation came in 1978, when the mall was fully enclosed. After the enclosure, most of the stores had both an interior entrance, as well as an exterior entrance. Macy’s Kansas City division was an original anchor store. It was converted to the Dillard’s nameplate in 1986 and that of Burlington Coat Factory in 1992. Other anchor stores that operated at the mall included Levitz Furniture, as well as Payless Cashways, a home improvement store.
In mid-1990s, the mall had begun a downward spiral. The mall's only remaining stores are Catherine's Plus Sizes, and the anchors Sears and Burlington Coat Factory . This left Antioch Center in an ever-advancing state of decay and neglect, until it is now being finally demolished starting in January, 2012. Mall description copied from Wikpedia website.
But the Park and Ride is alive and well . It is maintained and operated by the KCATA Metro bus company. Grab the cache and while you’re there look around and consider taking a ride on the bus. If you work downtown it is a inexpensive alternative to high parking fees and its always an inexpensive alternative to the ever rising gas prices. Be sure to wave goodbye to the mall as well.
Permission granted by KCATA Plant Mgt. Thanks DJ and JM.
