Geocache Description:

Small plastic lock n lock container stocked with trinkets from Geocaching store and a Log Book to record your find. Located along the Sterling Valley Trail in Sterling Forest.

Fourth in the Jerry Mathers’ Series, this cache was established to show another example of what this marvelous creature (the beaver) is capable of.
You’re standing adjacent to Ashman Meadow, so named for the family who farmed here over 150 years ago. The site of their homes’ foundation is on the hill adjacent to the trail overlooking this meadow which likely had free ranging sheep or goats at that time. Farming in these mountains was generally insufficient to support a family. Likely as not, family members walked to the Sterling Mines daily for additional income.
No one knows for sure when the family left but where the meadow is concerned, now we “Leave It To Beaver.”
This cache was registered and approved by Sterling Forest State Park and received their permit number GC123SF.

A miniature Geocache Log Book A compass zipper pull
A small combination lock A small co2 canister
