Geocache Description:

The Carron Lade(Furnace Lade) was constructed in 1761. Starting its journey from millhead on the river Carron below the Larbert Old Church, it provided water for the Carron Ironworks.

In 1975 the Ironworks stopped their use for the Lade and it was sealed off. It now as it did back then provides a walkway from Larbert to Stenhousemuir and Carron.

The Cache site is nearby an old childhood play spot, were many hours were spent puddling in the mudy water for tadpools and other watery creators.

Cache allows for small swaps and has no pencil.

This cache complies with the urban placement guidelines.
