Wenworth Falls in the Upper Blue Mountains has some significant areas of both historical significance and also of natural beauty. We will be gathering to help restore the natural beauty of the extensive network of walking tracks in the area.
The clean up starts at 9:00 am and finishes around 1:00 pm when we will have a BYOE lunch at the gathering point picnic area. Please try to arrive by around 8:30am, family members are welcome of course, the more the merrier.
Ensure you bring gloves, hats, water, sunscreen, sensible clothing and footwear, water and a camera.
The walking tracks we will be covering will range from easy board walks to challenging up and down with many stairs tracks, we hope that we can get enough people to cover as many of these tracks as possible.
The nearest parking space is at the end of Falls Rd near where the co-ords for the event are posted.
This event has been organised in co-operation with Ranger Arthur Henry from the Blue Mountains National Park. Arthur will be in attendance on the day to help organise teams and allocate walking tracks etc to those teams.
The association believes this and future co-operative projects will assist in developing a good relationship between geocachers and the NSW Parks and Wildlife Service, particularly in the Blue Mountains. If this event is a success that we believe it will be, we will make it a regular event for the mountains.
Please register your interest and the number of people who will be attending on the day, you can also register on the Clean Up Australia website if you wish.
Geocaching NSW is also hosting another Clean Up Australia Day CITO event near Manly.
