NOTE: This cache was part of the 2012 Virginia State Parks Blooming Adventure. This series ended on December 15, 2012. However, the park has taken over this cache so it is still active. Rewards are no longer available for this cache, but we will be launching a new series in March 2013. For upcoming information on the new series go to: www.virginiaoutdoors.com.
Follow along the road but watch for traffic and walk along the side until 100 to 150 yards away. The terrain is generally flat with some walking along the main park road with some off road hiking through mowed and some overgrown areas. The cache is in a regular sized lock-n-lock container. The cache contains a card with a picture and description of a native wildflower. The cache also contains a log book and as geocachers continue to visit the box, trinkets will begin to show up for exchange. Park at the trailhead for Laurel Point Trail or Turkey Neck trail along State Park Road. If you park at the Turkey Neck trailhead you can utilize the CCC trail to approach the cache.
