The Event will take place on Monday 4th June from 1300-1700 at The Royal Oak.
New caches will be released during the morning (I'm currently planning 16 of various types - even a Wherigo!).
Some parking is available at the pub. Alternative parking at the Baptist Church - about 700m walk.
The SSG Jubilee Committee have been very busy working with other organisations in the village to arrange lots of exciting events which will take place over the Queen’s Jubilee Weekend.
Although still liable to change we are pleased to announce the following programme:
Saturday 2 June
In the morning a ‘Celebration Breakfast’ will be held in the Village Hall.
In the afternoon there will be a Fete and Sports Day on the Playing Field. This event is being organised by the Parish Church so there are going to be lots of fun activities to enjoy!
The Playing Field committee are organising a Jubilee Dance in the evening with proceeds going to the New Pavilion Fund. Tickets are for sale in the shop.
Sunday 3 June
In the morning the Parish and Baptist Churches will be holding their annual ‘Songs of Praise’ on the Playing Field. This will be followed by a picnic ‘Big Lunch’ (bring your own) with a celebration cake.
A musical afternoon follows, featuring performances by a local choir, local bands and even yours truly!
The St Gregory Players will hold an event in the Village Hall on Sunday evening.
Monday 4 June
The Baptist Church are holding a coffee morning - come and try a slice of my delicious Victoria sponge!
During the day there is a village treasure hunt and a geocaching taster. The Geocaching Event itself will take place in The Royal Oak from 1-5pm.
The Rose and Crown are planning to hold a ‘Food Festival’ where you can come along and try a range of local foods and The Royal Oak will also be holding a ‘Beer and Cider Festival’.
We are proud to announce that our Jubilee Beacon has been officially registered – it will be lit on Monday evening to mark the occasion. So come along to Walkers Farm, Stathe to enjoy the atmosphere and a BBQ.
Throughout the weekend there will be an art exhibition in the Church Room featuring a range of local artists.
The Willows and Wetlands Centre are organising a special week-long exhibition called ’60 years of Stoke St Gregory at Work’.
