Geocache Description:

This is an easy Church Micro that you can drive right up to. The cache has not been placed inside the Church grounds.

Llangunnor has a saintly origin and is likely to be a corruption of the ancient Llan Sant Cynnwr. Sant Cynnwr is belived to have been one of the disciples of our patron saint, Dewi Sant. He established an early Church surrounded by an enclosure known as ‘Llan’ at the place where he preached and the present parish church is situated today on Llangunnor hill. In the porch of the Church is an old stone cross dating from an early Celtic period. In the Churchyard is buried David Charles the nonconformist hymn writer, who composed the wonderful Welsh hymn ‘O fryniau Caersalem ceir gweled’.

“If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.

There is also a Church Micro Stats page found via the Bookmark list”

This cache has been placed with the permission of the Parish.
