Geocache Description:


This cache is an easy park and grab.Just off of hwy 93 between Mackay and Challis Idaho. There is lots of history here.Just north you can see an old cabin that was the old stagecoach stop for the freighters hauling supplies to the Salmon river gold country.Just across from here the town of Chilly grew to a population of 2000 in its hay day.This slough has been home to lots of cattle and horses in the past and remains the same today.The slough runs clear to the base of the mountains to the north, where the springs boil up and start the sloughs.Happy trails, Newton Creek.
