To Pookie Bear, With Love Multi-Cache
MN.Fruitcake: As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

On this 10th anniversary of his leaving our world, I am creating a series of caches to immortalize a delightful boy, who in spite of so many undeserved challenges, never let that spoil his love of life and laughter. He is an inspiration to us all. This is the first. It is placed with permission of the owner. The location is limited to daylight hours only and never on Saturday. Possible additional closing dates are found via the posted link.
This is a two-tiered cache. Hidden in the phase one is a clue to the nearby second phase (a regular), inside of which are Pookie's gifts for you to share and trade as well as his guest register where you may write him a message.
Unfortunately, his neighbors do NOT appreciate people bringing brightly-colored or sparkly baubles (and weather-proof) to hang for him to gaze at. Or even things that might attract wildlife for him to play with. So please leave ONLY very natural tributes (small rocks etc) in the place provided.
To decipher Stage 1, simply take the SUM of [letters in first name] - SUM of [letters in last name]—when converted to standard alphanumeric format (A=1, Z=26)—then add the result to the coordinates for W...
Then sum the digits in Pookie's birth and death dates, and add to the coordinates for N...
Or follow the hint and head out from stage one... Have fun!
****************************************************
Pookie Bear loved children and music. He always went to the John Phillip Sousa concerts at Edinborough Park, where he wanted to stand up and dance. He loved the paper airplanes thrown at the musicians during the final march. When at school, he giggled and chortled, watching the children play, whether on the playground, at music class, or in the gym. His favorite was adaptive bowling. Quite limited physically and verbally, he never let that dim his spirits. He always had a smile for everyone who took the time to play. He shrieked with joy when he heard his brother practice the violin. He loved a practical joke, always popping his butt up when Dad tried to buckle him in his car seat.
Remember, above all else, to keep Pookie Bear and others like him in our hearts and cherish their spirits and zest for life, though it be hard to understand them--for though never free, they are truly the best teachers of just how to be.
