This is part of the 'Slight Detour' series of caches placed specifically for the Essex Camping Event 2012. Anyone attending the Camping Event 2012 can claim a joint FTF on the caches in this series.
This series is an interesting and varied route in its own right, but if you are walking the ECE (Essex Camping Event 2012) St Peter's Ring, and think the 18 miles may be too far in one go, then this detour gives you more options on the length of walk you could complete.
Assuming you are heading from #5 to #6 then there is a road and a plank bridge to cross to get to the cache. The footpath then continues over the field in which there are sometimes horses so please keep dogs on a lead here. After that you go through another gate, cross the road again, and head east along the pavement towards the footpath marker which you should see ahead. The pavement runs out but there is a wide grass verge to walk along for about 100yards. Then follow the footpath again and you should find yourself approaching #6.
