DONKEY CACHE BONAIRE - beschrijving in Nederlands / description in Dutch
Tijdens deze eenvoudige multi, die ook voor kinderen erg leuk is om te doen, maak je kennis met één van de leukste dieren van Bonaire: de ezel. Of liever gezegd: je maakt een rondrit tussen meer dan 600 ezels! Maar ook andere dieren van Bonaire kom je onderweg tegen, zoals schildpadden, leguanen en flamingo’s. En bovendien kun je in het ezelpark ook nog een heleboel andere mooie vogels spotten!
Om de cache te doen hoef je slechts een heel klein stukje te lopen, het grootste gedeelte (de rondrit door het ezelpark) kun je met je eigen auto doen. Alles lopen of fietsen mag desgewenst natuurlijk ook, maar neem dan wel voldoende water mee. Quads zijn niet toegelaten in de ezelopvang.
Om deze cache te doen moet je het privé-terrein van de ezelopvang op: Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire. Dat kan natuurlijk alleen tijdens hun openingstijden: dagelijks van 10.00 tot 17.00 uur. Om voldoende tijd te hebben voor de cache en onderweg ook nog te kunnen genieten, adviseren wij je om niet later dan 15.00 uur te starten. Bij hevige regenval kan het park gesloten zijn, omdat een rondrit dan niet mogelijk is.
Om de ezelopvang te bezoeken, betaal je $ 9 per volwassene en $ 4.50 per kind. Dit geld komt geheel ten goede aan de verzorging van ezels in nood! Loop nu naar de seniorenweide, de speciale weide voor oude, bejaarde ezels.
Opdracht 4: Tel het aantal panelen hekwerk dat rondom deze weide staat. Dus het aantal gazen panelen tussen de groene palen. Dit aantal + 4 = D Antwoord is D
Loop nu terug naar je auto en rijd een ronde door het grote park, rechtsom.
RONDRIT
Maak een rondrit door het ezelpark in de aangegeven rijrichting. Geniet van de vele ezels, maar vergeet niet onderweg het aantal voormalige picknickplekken dat je tegenkomt te tellen. Hiermee bedoelen we de plekken met een dak erboven en daaronder een cirkel afgezet met grote stenen. Zie bij twijfel wat we bedoelen de foto, maar let op, het gele hekje tussen de grote stenen en de houten tafel in het midden van de picknickplek zijn er niet meer. Alle andere plekken met een dak maar zonder de cirkel van grote stenen tel je niet mee.
Deze plekken waren oorspronkelijk bedoeld als picknickplek voor bezoekers. Maar de ezels wilden zoooo graag meedoen met het picknicken, dat zij over de stenen muren probeerden te springen. Om ongelukken bij mens en ezel te voorkomen, zijn de picknickplekken daarom opgeheven. Nu doen ze prima dienst als extra schaduwplekken voor het toegenomen aantal ezels.

In de cache passen kleine travelbugs. Verstop de cache weer zoals je hem aantrof. Te hard sluiten, betekent dat de volgende hem wellicht niet meer open krijgt… De cachebox is small. Of hadden we hem toch large moeten noemen?
Na afloop kun je desgewenst nog genieten van een drankje en snack op het mooie terras onder de traditionele palapa, een afdak gemaakt van gedroogde palmbladeren. Ook daarmee steun je de ezels, want alle opbrengsten worden gebruikt voor de verzorging van de dieren!

During this easy multi cache, that is also very nice for children to join, you will meet one of the nicest animals of Bonaire: the donkey. Or better said: you will make a tour amongst more than 600 donkeys! But also other typical animals of Bonaire you will meet on the way, like tortoises, iguanas and flamingoes. Moreover there are a lot of other beautiful birds to be found in the donkey sanctuary!
To find this cache you only need to walk a very short distance. The biggest part (a tour through the sanctuary) you can drive in your own car. Of course you can also choose to go on your bicycle or to walk all the way, but in that case do bring sufficient water with you. Quads are not allowed in the sanctuary.
To find this cache you need to enter the private property of the Donkey Sanctuary Bonaire. Obviously that is only allowed during their opening hours: daily from 10 am untill 5 pm. To give yourself time to find the cache and to enjoy your tour, we recommend you to start at 3 pm at latest. After heavy rain the park may be closed, as a tour will not be possible then.
To enter the donkey sanctuary you have to pay an admission fee: $ 9 for adults, $ 4.50 for children. This fee will completely benefit the care of donkeys in distress. Now walk to the senior meadow, the meadow for old donkeys. Count the number of panels of the fencing around this meadow. So how many panels of metal netting are around this meadow, the panels in between the green poles. Take this number and add 4 tp get D. So number of panels + 4 = D. Answer is D
Now walk back to your car and start your tour through the big park.
TOUR
Make a tour through the sanctuary in the designated direction. Enjoy the many donkeys, but do not forget to count the number of former picknick areas you will find along the way.
Question 5: How many former picknick places you found along the way? With these former picknick places we mean the places where you find a roof, under which you will see a circle of big rocks. If you doubt what we mean, take a look at the picture, but notice that the yellow small fence between the rocks and the wooden table are no longer there. All other places with a roof (but not surrounded by the circle of rocks) do not count. These places were originally designated as picknick places for visitors. But the donkeys wanted to join the picknick sooooo much, that they tried to jump over the rocks. To prevent accidents for both people and donkeys, the picknick places are no longer in function. They are now very useful as extra sun shelters for the increased number of donkeys. Answer is E

Only small travelbugs will fit into the cache. Please hide the cache again exactly as you found it. Closing it to hard will mean the next cacher might not be able to open it… The cache box itself is small. Or should we call it big?
