Geocache Description:

NUESTRA SENORA de DOLORES; CEMETERIO de CANON is the full name of this cemetery and known as the Los Dolores Cemetery.

Canon is at the mouth of the Canyon of Fernando de Taos. This inhabited community was settled about 1700 at this location that gave the village, not only plentiful water from the nearby stream, but also its name.

The cache host is a camo'd bison tube, outside the cemetery, Northeast of the main gate. Turn off US Highway 64 on the dirt/gravel (PIEDMONT) road. Go past the cemetery to a "Y" where you can turn around and park at the edge of the road, close to the location of the cache.

Spirit caches are a series placed at or near NM cemeteries in hopes of paying respect to the Pioneer Ancestors having "gone" on before us, and, possibly picking up a bit of history of the area.
