Somewhere between Castlemaine & Maldon are the ruins of Gowar School. There is plenty of parking but please refrain from entering the fenced enclosure around the school ruins for your safety
Although I haven't been able to find any information regarding this school, the sign & crumbled down ruins speak for themselves. Look closely & you can make out the school entrance & other door ways. Try & picture the teacher ruling over dozens of children at their desks with a strap or cane, a 100 years ago. Haven't times changed...
