I have been chasing Sailor around in these woods.
Now it is time for revenge.
I finally found his ship and sunk it!
I have been flying around these woods chasing Sailor's caches. If you have tried them then you know that Sailor's Captain knows how to plant diabolical caches. It took several flights for me and my fellow airman to find all the waypoints required. However, they were some of my favorite caches (once I found them).
I finally found Sailor's Ship anchored in the woods and used my torpedo bombs to sink it. You will find my cache in the hull of his sunken ship.
Serious Note: Since I enjoyed this area, I thought I would invite other less adventuresome cachers to visit these woods and enjoy the great trail system found here.
The trails are maintained by the Bedford Land Trust ( www.bedfordlandtrust.org ) and the Amherst Conservation Commission as part of the Prescott / Joppa Hill Farm conservation land.
My favorite flight path starts at the suggested parking coordinates(N42 56.073 W71 34.532 in case you did not download them). Follow the Red - Joppa Hill Farm (JHF) Loop or Red Trail (go to the right at the trail map station). The Red Trail will take you through two fields. The trail is well marked with red blazes even in the middle of the fields. You have a choice in the middle of the second field A) where the trail turns left, go right into the corner and then go for the cache or B) go straight at it and make a very small creek crossing.
The Bedford Land Trust map (http://www.bedfordlandtrust.org/photos/JoppaHill-3-New.pdf) shows several other choices to access this area. In the field, the ACC map stations show an updated trail map but I have not been able to find it on-line.
