CISED Penela Traditional Cache

O Centro de Interpretação do Sistema Espeleológico do Dueça (CISED) é uma infra-estrutura pensada e criada para promover e valorizar o território através a preservação e salvaguarda do ambiente enquanto principal riqueza social e económica.

Os seus objectivos fundamentais são:

Apoiar a exploração espeleológica no território;

Estimular a investigação científica;

Incentivar a cooperação entre as diferentes entidades que trabalham nos vários domínios disciplinares do território envolvente;

Divulgar nos meios científicos, técnicos e administrativos os conhecimentos entretanto adquiridos sobre o território;

Implementar, através do conhecimento científico adquirido, a realização de acções de Educação Ambiental;

Organizar reuniões científicas para apresentação, discussão e divulgação do conhecimento adquirido e das respectivas estratégias de desenvolvimento;

Promover o turismo ambiental no território;

Contribuir para uma atitude crítica das populações e agentes regionais e para uma visão ambientalmente sustentável do desenvolvimento regional.

O Sistema Espeleológico do Dueça

Beleza, grandiosidade, espetacularidade, variedade, originalidade, tipicidade, genuinidade e pureza são apenas alguns dos adjetivos que podemos atribuir às paisagens calcárias. Em Sicó, onde o rio Dueça faz o seu traçado encontramos várias marcas características desta paisagem.

A “rocha nua, perfurada e lavrada em espetaculares campos de lapiás, as vertentes íngremes e pedrosas, associadas a profundos vales”, são algumas das formas que marcam a paisagem cársica desta região. Mas o mais incrível património natural encontra-se no mundo subterrâneo, onde as suas grutas e cavidades escondem um património espeleológico indescritível.

O sistema espeleológico do Dueça, encerra recursos naturais, ambientais e patrimoniais de elevado valor, a paisagem, a fauna e a flora e, sobretudo, as suas águas subterrâneas.

The Speleological Dueça System Interpretation Centre (CISED) is an infrastructure created and designed to promote and enhance this territory, through the preservation and protection of the environment as a major social and economic wealth.

This center key objectives are:

Support the speleological exploration in the territory;

Encourage scientific research;

Encourage cooperation between the different entities working in the various disciplinary areas surrounding territory;

Disseminate in scientific circles, the technical and administrative knowledge acquired over the territory;

Implement, through the scientific knowledge gained, the implementation of actions on Environmental Education;

Organize scientific meetings for the presentation, discussion and dissemination of acquired knowledge and related development strategies;

Promote environmental tourism in the territory;

Contribute to the creation of an critical attitude of the population and regional agents towards for environmentally sustainable regional development.

The Speleological Dueça System

Beauty, magnificence spectacularity, variety, originality typicality, genuineness and purity are just some of the adjectives that can be attributed to karst landscapes. In Sicó, where the Dueça River makes its route, we find many features of this type of landscape.

The 'bare rock perforated and carved in spectacular limestone pavements fields, the steep slopes associated to deep valleys,' are some of the formations that mark the karst landscape of this region. But the most incredible natural heritage lies in the underworld, where its caves and holes hide a valuable speleological heritage.

The speleological Dueça system has incredible natural resources, a high valued environmental heritage and unique landscape, flora and fauna.
