The bears are all hiding in the Great Wood searching for the Teddy Bear Picnic Basket and this includes the dimwitted sidekick of Brer Fox, Brer Bear.
Brer Bear is a fictional character from the Uncle Remus folktales that were adapted and compiled by Joel Chandler Harris. In 1946, a film called "Song of the South" based on these folktales was produced.
Besides this movie, Brer Bear has made cameo appearances in other films - House of Mouse, Mickey's Magical Christmas, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and The Lion King 1 and a half.
Brer Bear, not known for his brains, but his brawn, always carries a club, while warning, "I'm gonna knock his head clean off". Like Brer Fox, who is the clever devious one of the duo, they both love the taste of rabbit stew, and Brer Bear will do anything to help Brer Fox catch Brer Rabbit, but as always, Brer Bear is more of a hindrance than a help.
