This cache was placed by 2 lovebirds celebrating 6 months of marriage + 15 years of love and happiness by putting their love on “lockdown.”
The Global Phenomenon of Love Padlocks
For centuries, at some of the most exotic and romantic places in the world, lovers have demonstrated their commitment with a locked padlock, which would symbolize the love shared between two people and locking of ones life together. All across the world people are placing their locks in special places to symbolize and pronounce their love.
Love padlocks have existed for quite some time, though there are no certain sources for their origin. Some sources agree that the tradition started in the city of Pécs in Hungary sometime during the early 1980s, as a sign of solidarity between student couples trying to cope with their demanding studies and a relationship at the same time.
The Cache
It is located within a small community park, commonly used as a dog park, within a downtown residential area. There is a great need for stealth, as the area is frequently trafficked by muggles, and of course furry muggles! The cache is a microcache, containing only a log sheet (please bring your own pen).
We hope the cache will give us a lasting connection with the city and to the park that we see everyday. A special thank-you to Yukon’s Gold and airborne150 for making caching another love of ours!
