Geocache Description:

This cache is located near a tunnel under the m5 access is from money lane the B4551. This is another cache and dash with very easy access.

The cache is a 35mm film canister. And only contains the logbook and pen or pencil is needed for this cache.

Barnes Close first on map

Cadbury family moved back to Selly Oak and Barnes Close let to organisations helping the needy the last being the Salvation Army as a Children’s Home evacuated from the East End of London

1945
Birmingham Sunday School Union acquire Barnes Close

c1950
Extension over former courtyard and outhouse to provide additional bedrooms for staff

1964
Extension to Common Room and Games Room

1973
Plans drawn up for 6 extra bedrooms (West Wing)

1986
CfR moved to Barnes Close

1989
Formal transfer of Barnes Close from BSSU to CfR

1990's
Conversion of dormitories into single and twin rooms, provision of en-suite facilities for eight bedrooms Addition of conservatory, known as 'The Dennis Webb Room'
