All the Teddy Bears are hiding out in the Great Wood searching for the Teddy Bear Picnic Basket and included among them is Barney Bear.
Barney Bear first appeared in 1939 in a movie short "The Bear Who couldn't Sleep" and by 1941, was the star in his own series. One of the shorts of 1941, "The Rookie Bear", received an Oscar nomination. The last original Barney Bear cartoons were released between 1952 - 1954.
Barney was sluggish, sleepy and grumpy but did have a pleasant disposition. His great pursuit -- nothing but peace and quiet. He had shaggy fur, wrinkled clothing and six eyebrows and did have a sidekick named Benny Burro.
In the 1953 cartoon, "Barney's Hungry Cousin", the first known mention of Jellystone Park is made
