Located along the "Oxbow Trail", a side-trail off of the "Cook's Trail" between the Sandy Creek Nature Center and Sandy Creek Park. Ammo box on a steep hillside covered in ferns, not far from the trail. Please step carefully to avoid damaging the plants that give this area it's name, there are deer trails that you can follow if you are observant!
Like several other caches on this trail, this counts as a find only if you start at one of the official trailheads at Sandy Creek Nature Center or Sandy Creek Park. This will require a hike of up to a couple of miles, depending on where you start. I recommend starting at the southern end at the Nature Center and making a 15.5 mile hike up and around the lake, picking off several caches as you go, attempt only if you are in pretty good shape!
