Goulburn has long been at the forefront of motor sports in Australia with the first Australian Motor Cycle Grand Prix being held here.
The first Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix was held in 1924. It ran over four laps of a triangular course going from the outskirts of Goulburn to Windellama, across to Bungonia, and back to the junction of the two roads.
