This is one of the new murals in Clarendon County honoring Francis
Marion (the Swampfox), who got his name fighting the British in
Clarendon County and neighboring counties. A lot of people have
been stopping to get their pictures in front of it so I thought it
might make a good geocache.
There is parking at the coordinates given. Take a few minutes to
check out some of the other nearby caches if you have not found
them yet.
To log your visit, please try to post a picture of you in front
of the mural (or a part of it). The pictures above show the plague
about the mural and a very small portion of it. Note that the
"British" dragoons are correctly wearing green and you cannot see
Francis Marion in this portion of the picture (just as the British
could not). If you want to see him and his men, you'll just have to
find the cache! But I promise you will not get ambushed.
Hopefully this one is easy enough to let people get a good start
into geocaching.
ENJOY! If you do not have a camera or cannot post a picture, it
is no problem at all. Just be on your honor. The point is to have
fun so don't let lack of a picture present a challenge for you.
Thanks!
